ResearchHub Intelligence is operated by Abdulgafar Uthman. For the personal data described here, Abdulgafar Uthman is the data controller — we decide why and how your personal data is processed. Contact: support@researchhub.dev.
1. Personal data we collect and why
- Account data (name, email address, login credentials, academic role and institution) — to create and secure your account and provide the Service. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
- Research content you upload (projects, samples, worksheets, spreadsheets, sequence files, images, documents and prompts) — to provide the features you use, including AI analysis and drafting. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
- Usage and telemetry (features used, AI actions, credit transactions, timestamps) — to meter credits, prevent abuse, support you and improve the product. Legal basis: contract and our legitimate interests.
- Technical data (device identifiers, browser type, IP address, log data) — for security, fraud prevention and reliability. Legal basis: legitimate interests and legal obligation.
- Support messages — to answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Marketing emails, only where you opt in. Legal basis: consent, withdrawable at any time.
Please do not upload identifiable human-subject or patient data. The Service is intended for de-identified research data.
2. Payments
Our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com, handles checkout, subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance, and collects the payment data needed for that. We do not receive or store your full card details.
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, authentication, email delivery and AI model providers that process your prompts and uploaded content solely to return a result.
- Merchant of Record — Paddle, for sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
- Scientific data services you invoke — for example literature and sequence databases — which receive the query you submit.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share your research content with other users unless you explicitly invite them to a project or workspace.
4. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the EEA, the UK and the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
5. Retention
Account and research content are kept while your account is active and for up to 30 days after deletion, to allow recovery. Credit and transaction records are kept for as long as required for accounting and tax (typically up to 7 years). Logs are kept for up to 12 months. Data is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@researchhub.dev and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
7. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, authenticated access and row-level database policies that scope each record to its owner and the collaborators they invite.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage for sign-in sessions, security and remembering your preferences. Paddle sets cookies necessary for checkout. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, though sign-in will not work without the essential ones.
9. Changes
We will update this notice as the Service changes and revise the date above.
